About this series

This article is Part 1 of a three-part scholarly series titled Closing the Gap: Building a Cellular Therapy Workforce for the Future, currently being prepared for submission. Written for a professional audience of laboratory scientists, educators, and healthcare administrators, this piece examines the growing workforce shortage in cellular and gene therapy and argues that clinical laboratory scientists are uniquely positioned to close that gap. Rhetorically, the article employs an evidence-based, scholarly tone grounded in peer-reviewed literature, accreditation standards, and national workforce data. The writing integrates scientific expertise with public health analysis, reflecting my doctoral concentration in community health and higher education and my professional identity as both a laboratory scientist and an educator.
